Oct. 7, 2005 Rainey, Like many others, I have been searching for a copy of "Old Enough to Rock
and Roll" since the soundtrack came out in the mid to early 80's. I am 22 and
this song has been a large part of me since it was in the movie Iron Eagle,
which was released when I was about 3 years old. I've found much power and
inspiration in the song and use it as a personal mantra, especially when things
are not going well. However, I have not found a way to acquire that song or
even its lyrics. I have even contacted the recording company in hopes that
they would have some answers but have received nothing from them.
There is a group of individuals I know of who have also been searching
for this song for the past 10+ years and we would each gladly pay to have a
copy of it. Please help to end our frustrations if it is at all possible.
Thank you for your craft and your time.
-Jessica F.,State College, PA
Jessica, thank you darling, for writing
to me. You were among the first people to contact me after I got this website up and running, about putting this song out
for the fans. I love you! -Rainey
Oct 10, 2005 Hi
Rainey, My name is Marc James Hamill, I'm 25 from Leicester, England. I work as an Artist [ www.marcjamesgallery.co.uk ] and
also work part time as a sound engineer at some local Live venues. I've been in lots of bands over the past 10 years or so.
I started out as a drummer, but have since learned guitar and keyboard. My new band is called Digital Garden and we have just
started giging around the UK. I first saw the film Iron Eagle when I was about 12 years old. I think your song was probably
the reason I started my first band! I ordered an import copy of the Iron Eagle sound track CD and was so disappointed that
the song wasn't on there. Since I first got on the internet in '97 I have searched for the song with no luck. I'm not sure
whether you know, but there are lots of people searching for you. There are so many forums on the net. I'd love a copy of
your original Demo! P.s. My band website is: www.digital-garden.co.uk
Thank you so much,
-Marc., Leicester, UK
Marc, you really got me going on my
quest to get that song out. You are so talented (I checked out your websites) that I know you would have started bands without
ever having heard my song. You and your band Digital Garden are great! I am deeply honored by your words and wish you the
best of luck with your music and art. I hope I get to hear you perform someday soon. -Rainey
Oct. 16,2005 Hi Rainey! I found your website after literally YEARS of searching
for this song. Yes admit I am another of the horde of fans that have become obsessed with this song and getting a copy of
it that isn't taken from Iron Eagle with all the dialogue!! I noticed on a forum that you posted on that it might be possible
to get hold of a demo of the song if I contact you so here I am! It would be a fantastic thing for me as I have spent years
searching!! Please let me know if this is possible and what I would need to do to get it. On another note I think you have an amazing voice and I look forward to future recordings. Many thanks,
-Peter H., Shropshire, UK
www.projectvalkyrie.co.uk PSYCHOPHONIC
RECORDS
Peter, you are another wildly talented
dude (I visited your website)! Your band sounds amazing, and I can't wait to see you guys play when I come to England. Good
luck with Project Valkyrie (I always did love those Valkyries!) Rock on! -Rainey
Oct. 17, 2005 Rainey, Wow! I have been looking for that song since I first
saw Iron Eagle. It is nothing short of phenomenal. If you could let me know how I could geta hold of that amazing tune I would
be forever grateful. Any information would be much appreciated. Thank you for making such an astounding masterpiece.
-Jason, Minneapolis, MN P.S. Is there some place I can buy your other work
too?
May the blessings
of a thousand singing fairies bring joy to you for saying that, dear Jason! No, I'm serious. A thousand friggin' singing fairies.
Well, don't just sit there, clap your hands if you believe! I'll be getting another jammin' CD out fairly soon. It will be
found under "Raineymusic". Bless you, my darling. -Rainey
Oct 21, 2005 Hello Rainey, and thanks for your gifts of Music that you have shared with the world.
I am sure that I am not the first person to ask about this and I probably won't be the last. But I have been hunting your
song that was in the Iron Eagle Movie since about 1987. It wasn't until after 3 years of searching (Aprox. 1989) that I gave
up the quest of ever locating it cause, none of the stores had it, or even heard of it. But they were happy to sell me an
Iron Eagle Soundtrack when I mentioned it was in the film. So I got it. No song. I gave up. Fast forward to 1997. Internet
hits, MP3's are rolling out. I started searching for someone that may have had a copy again. No dice. All searches I did on
your name, "Rainey Haynes" as listed in the Iron Eagle Credits turned up Zip. Miffed and Baffled yet again I put it on a shelf.
2005... Well the DVD of the film, which i hadnt seen in quite a while, was just released on DVD, and no pun intended, started
hearing that old music again. So I again began a quest to locate it, again. I am beginning to treat your song as if it's a
unicorn, a mythical creature never to possess. lol Well I located a site, two infact, of people just as determined as I am
to locate a copy of this song. Whether VinylLP/Tape/CD/Single/DVD/WMA/MP3, to no avail. Someone posted your Website on one
of the forums, and it was like finding the holy grail. If no copies exhist, no film producers/audio mixers of the film have
it, go to the source! So, i am asking if you plan on releasing a version or several versions or even the original version
of this song through your website and make it available to the public for those of us who bought the Iron Eagle Soundtrack
specifically for your song and were denied our Listening glory due to Corperate and Executive Politics? We're your fans, we
love you, and we want your music! Thanks in advance, -William M., Shalimar, Florida P.S. Is there some place I can buy
your other work too?
Wow, I'm sorry you've had to look for me, I didn't realize! I was just kinda
groovin' along for all these years, and I didn't know anyone was searching for me. It really came as quite a shock when I
started getting all the emails. But I'm going to try to make it up to you and everyone with the very best version of Old Enough
I can get together! And much more music to come! I love you all!
-Rainey

-Rainey Jan. 4, 2006 Hi there!
Another avid fan of the classic 80's movie, and the song Old Enough to Rock and Roll. I am an aerobatic pilot from Australia,
and I've been trying to locate the song for about 7 years to use as the backing for a short video clip on flying. Thankyou
very much on behalf of all your fans for taking the time to reproduce this classic piece of 80's rock and roll.
Would love to order a copy of the single when it becomes available. -Kind regards, Peter T, Rockdale, New South Wales
Wow Peter, a stunt pilot in Australia. That is just so cool. May I please come to visit
you and have a ride? -Rainey
Jan. 10, 2006 Hello there,
Great to see you online and interacting with your fans.
I've been searching for your song from the 'Iron Eagle' movie since the first weekend that movie opened.
I was going through U.S. Army Airborne training and later R.I.P. (Ranger Indoctrination Program) and your song became my personal
cadence which carried me through some rough training.
That said, I'm elated to learn it may finally be available. Close to a two decade search for the anthem of my youth!
Please tell me I'm not too late?
If it's possible I would like to order 2 copies. No way am I going to take a chance on losing that cd!!
I look forward to hearing about the cd's and following any future recordings of yours.
-Jay E., Milton, WA
... Well, all I can say is, people, I have the
coolest friggin' fans in all the world. Jay, my dear, you are most certainly not too late. I'm reserving two for you right
now. -Rainey

When I checked my e-mail this (saturday) morning and read your message I knew that this day couldn't become
any better. I just ordered a copy of "Old Enough" and I can't wait receiving it.
I hope the $3 will cover the shipping costs to Holland, if not, please let me know and I will transfer the extra
money. I hope you realise that you will receive more orders from Europe. When I was looking at the Internet for
you I saw that other people from Holland, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, the UK etc. were also looking for "Old Enough".
I hope many people order the CD from you so they can all enjoy your music and finish their search.
Have a very nice day!
Best regards, Bart B., Culemborg, Netherlands
Bart, my friend, when I got your email, I knew
my day couldn't get any better! Thanks so much, dear, and the three bucks is fine. -Rainey
Jan. 23, 2006 Dear Rainey, I love that song
"Old enough to rock and roll"! I ordered your cd and was just wondering when I should expect it.... Also, I am an audio
engineer for local bands here in Rochester, NY and we were doing a show for a band that does all classic rock covers...and
they are phenominal! anywho, they were taking requests and i shouted that song up and the keyboardist was like "hell yea!"
they played it and the place went completely crazy with people, never have I seen such a strong reaction from a crowd like
that.. it was cool. Hope to hear from you and to let you know i will probably be the first person to wear out a CD from overuse. Best Wishes,
Daniel M., Rochester, N.Y.
Daniel! That's so exciting! I wish I could have been there. Let me know when you do your next gig, I want to come!
And by the way, your CD way mailed today. Let know how you liked it. -Rainey
Jan. 25, 2006 Hey Rainey, Jason here. I just want to be able to say that I
was one of the first people who had the very first copy of this
song! You have no idea how stoked I am to get this disc. As soon as I
get it I am going to make a copy of the disc and lock it up safely, then I
am going to put the wav. file on my computer, as well as an mp3 in iTunes
which will get put on my mp3 player, then I will put a copy of both the
wav. file and the mp3 on my portable hard drive. I will never have to go
through the agony of never being able to hear that song ever again! And
when I am all done with securing the song, the original disc is so getting
framed. You are easily my favorite person of 2006. By the way, I have
told the "Old Enough" story to a lot of my friends and instructors at the
Institute of Production and Recording in Minneapolis and they just love
it. If you are ever in town you should come by and lay down a few tunes
with me, for it would be a big honor to record you! I still cannot thank
you enough for undergoing this project. You'll probably be hearing from
me one more time when I get the disc!
-Jason M., Minneapolis, MN
And
Jason, you are easily my favorite person of 2006! I would love to come record with you in Minneapolis. By
the way, do you ever see that other favorite person of mine that's in Minneapolis, that artist, formerly known as the artist,
uhm, formerly known as the artist... er, formerly known as the artist- oh, let's just forget it. But be sure to keep in touch,
Jason, my love, and I'll see you when I come to Minne. -Rainey
Jan. 27, 2006 I just got my "Old Enough" CD and I am thrilled. This song is absolutely everything I expected it to be and
then some. I searched 8 long years for this song and now I can finally hear this in CD quality. Thanks you so much Rainey
for finally releasing it!
-Andy R., Pittsburg, PA
Dear Andy, it was all my pleasure. I'm so totally gassed about the way
it turned out as well. I hope you'll like my next venture, too, called "Bring On the Fire". You can preview it in the Raineymusic
page... -Rainey
Feb. 4, 2006 Rainey:
I received my copy of the CD yesterday and I have
really enjoyed it. I was wondering what your plans were
for this song. Were you planning to release it for radio
stations to play? I haven't heard it yet so I was
wondering.
-Steve H., Vancouver, B.C.
Steve,
what a great idea! I received the suggestions for edits in the song for tailoring it more for radio play, and I really appreciate
all the effort you put into that, Steven. Bless you for your interest and encouragement. We'll get the_support_team@raineyonline.com
on obtaining radio play a.s.a.p... -Rainey
Feb. 9, 2006 Rainey,
I just wanted to say I am waiting for my CD. As soon as it arrives I will be making my own Iron Eagle CD.
I read how you lost the game of chicken (concerning getting OETRAR in
the Iron Eagle soundtrack). Don’t worry about it. As one of my favorite musicians says,” we made millions of dollars
for them, but they never wanted to throw money at us.” Steve Lukather is a smart man. (He is from Toto if you don’t
know who he is)
Is there any chance that you might go back into the studio and do a club mix for OETR&R?
-Larry L., Scottsdale, AZ
Hey, Larry, we mailed out your CD on Tuesday;
it should be there very soon. I hope you'll let me know how it sounds to you when it arrives.
Oh yeah! Toto was always my favorite band... The Pocaro brothers used to come to my gigs. They were incredible! And I loved
Bobby Kimball so much. What a great singer. And of course Lucather was touched by God, IMHO.
You know, some other wonderful people have wondered about a dance mix, too... I guess I should look into that. That would
be fun! Thanks for the suggestion. -Rainey
Feb.9, 2006 Dear Rainey, thanks for finally releasing a copy of the
hottest song ever recorded. I've been trying forever to
find a copy of your hit song 'OLD ENOUGH TO ROCK AND
ROLL'. I just found out from someone that I emailed
that you had released it on a cd so I ordered a copy
of it of course as fast as i could. I hope it doesn't
take to long for it to arrive. Well thanks again for
releasing this awesome song.
-Rick P., Bellaire, Ohio
Rick my dear, those words mean the world to me. You just can't know how wonderful it
is to hear that you felt this way about my song, and that you took the time to write and let me know. God bless you, sweet!
-Rainey
Feb.13, 2006 Hi!
After seeing the "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun"- Movie, I totally fell in love with your two songs in the movie. Especially "I
can fly". Just wanted to thank you for "I can fly". Without "I can fly" I don't know if I could have handled the hard times
in my life. Can't live without that song, it means so much to me. It makes me so happy, I can both cry and just dance to it.
Thank you so much!
And please, can you out the lyrics for "I can fly" on the website?
-Love
/Mathilda T, your big fan :), Sweden
Oh! I love my fans! Mathilda darling, I will get those lyrics to you right away. I didn't
write that one, Don Grady, Mark Holding, Duncan Pain, and Laura Riley did. Wow, it really took a lot of people to write those
lyrics, didn't it!?! But what a great song. I made the top ten Billboard dance chart with that one! -Rainey
Feb.13, 2006 Rainey,
I just recieved my CD of "Old enough to rock and roll" in the mail today. Thankyou! Thank you! Thank you! It was exactly
what I hoped it would be. Has anybody told you that you sound a little like Tina Turner? Anyhow, keep making the music, you
have a wonderful voice.
-Ty, Thousand Oaks, CA.
Hey
Ty! Gee, I miss Thousand Oaks, what a lovely place that is. Yes, people have mentioned that they thought I sounded like Tina
Turner before. It's wonderful and humbling to be compared to such an incredible super-singer! So glad you liked the tune,
I've got a new CD you may like, called "Bring On the Fire. I hope you'll give it a listen. -Rainey
Feb.13, 2006 Rainey,
I wanted to send you a personal note to say how much I appreciate the hard work you put into releasing "Old Enough To Rock
& Roll" for your fans. Most of us had no way to get a copy of this song or let you know how much we loved it. But, so
goes the music business for everyone but the biggest stars. Then again, we don't get their email addresses either! Somehow,
I highly doubt that those big stars ever read their fan mail or get to know who they're really playing for (other than themselves).
At any rate, my nephew (only a 5 year age difference) told me about your site after joining an internet forum that discusses
"long-lost" songs. One of the members there responded to his inquiry about the "Iron Eagle" song and let him know about your
site. My nephew had already received your signed CD when he told me how good it sounded and he sent me an MP3 version of it.
I firmly believe in "money earned, money paid" and even though I already have the song (illegally) now, I hap
pily ordered your CD. You truly deserve the money. I'm sure you won't be making a fortune off of this CD, but you still deserve
it!
I am also interested in your other music, but I'm having difficulty accessing the files on your site. All the Weed format
songs return a "page not found" error. I'd like to hear at least one or two more songs before purchasing, though. If they're
even close to the caliber of "Old Enough To Rock & Roll" then I'll definitely be placing my order!
Please keep us updated on what you're up to. I'm sure there are plenty of people who'd like to see or meet you if you happen
to be doing something in their area.
Take care! -George S., Sayreville, NJ
George, thanks! I really appreciate your words and thoughts about file sharing on the
internet. It's such an important topic for artists these days! Weedshare.com is a terrific solution to the problem of legally
sharing music files over the internet, and I support them wholeheartedly, as do a growing number of other musicians and artists.
I put the_support_team onto your problem with my weed link right away, and it's fixed now, I believe. Let me know if you have
any more trouble. Once again, thank you so much for trying out Weed (weedshare.com) and for supporting legal
internet music file-sharing! -Rainey
